Evaluation of the business climate in The Municipality of Aarhus

Insight into the business community’s views on topics such as urban development, green transition, and current needs to evaluate the municipal’s business policy efforts in 2023.

Background

For several years, Aarhus Municipality has conducted a series of measurements to gauge the pulse of the local business community. These measurements aim to shed light on businesses’ experiences and attitudes towards Aarhus Municipality’s business policy efforts and gather information about businesses’ own efforts and other business-related facts.

Silverlining Research performed a business climate survey for Aarhus Municipality in December 2023.

Method

To accomplish this task, Silverlining Research assisted Aarhus Municipality and conducted a major survey investigation, which uncovered the current satisfaction levels, views on infrastructure and urban development, green transition, future desires, and needs of 400 businesses in Aarhus.

The data collection for the business climate survey was carried out as a quantitative questionnaire survey via telephone interviews with businesses having branches or headquarters in Aarhus Municipality. All interviews were conducted by Silverlining Research’s own telephone interview team among a representative sample of private companies in Aarhus Municipality.

Impact

The 2023 business climate survey was conducted to evaluate the current municipal business policy efforts in 2023. These policies are anchored in the business plan “Partnerships for Sustainable Growth 2020-24” and the Business Package 2021-24, which aim to strengthen the framework conditions for businesses in Aarhus Municipality.
